Control Centre Digi-CA™

DSSA™ Activation Management

PDF [1] As explained the DSSA™ is autonomous [2] and does not accept any commands or network communications received from outside. Therefore, the only way to configure or modify any DSSA™ is by using the interface [3] or command prompts [4] directly on the software itself.

The DSSA™ must authenticate to the CSG™ [5] every time it wants to communicate with the CA [6] and using the AACD™ Control Centre, the CSG™ can enable/disable this communication and effectively control the behaviour of a specific DSSA™ Server. This simple feature can be valuable when multiple instances of DSSA™ Servers occur on a network.

The intuitive design of the AACD™ Control Centre means that the specific server’s IP Address or hostname appears in list format with the option to enable or disable it using the corresponding radio button. There are three functions that can be enabled/disabled using this section of the AACD™ Control Centre interface:

  • Manual
  • As explained after being initialised, the DSSA™ takes control of all the SSLs [7] on a server and automates all valid SSLs from that moment onwards. Any expired SSLs, prior to the DSSA™ initialisation or any SSLs that have been disabled using the IIS interface or Apache command prompt will appear as ‘Continue manual Configuration’ (indicated as 1 on the diagram above) on this list.

To re-enable the automatic renewal of the SSL, that is currently set to ‘Continue manual Configuration’, select ‘Automate to Digi-SSL’. Alternatively, if either of the two options ‘Automate to Digi-SSL’ or ‘Deactivate’ are selected, to return the specific SSL to manual, check the radio button opposite ‘Continue manual Configuration’.

  • Automated
  • As explained after being initialised, the DSSA™ takes control of all the SSLs [7] on a server and automates all valid SSLs from that moment onwards. This is indicated on the report as ‘Automate to Digi-SSL’ (indicated as 2 on the diagram above). To change this, select either of the two options ‘Continue Manual Configuration’ or ‘Deactivate’.

  • Deactivate
  • To deactivate a specific SSLs management by the DSSA™ simply check the ‘Deactivate’ radio button and to change this, select either of the other two options.
